Overview of the ‘warm glass’ process.

Process 1

The inventory of sheet glass includes different thicknesses, coatings, textures, and colors, as well as transparent and opaque. Thinner glass is used to build color shades and is used to produce lighter designs.

Process 2

Creating the design and choosing a color palette. Using sample chips to visualize the overall designs theme.

Process 3

Cutting and dry forming the design to ensure the color balance and fit.

Process 4

Fused pieces ready for second firing to add another layer of glass.

Process 5

Fused piece ready for slumping into the mold. After slumping a piece could be cold worked by grinding, sand blasting, cutting, or other methods, depending on the effect desired.

Process 6

Some designs are dynamic as they can be arranged to form multiple variations on the theme.

Overview of the confetti glass ‘painting’ process.

Process 1

Jars of confetti glass. The many different hues for a design are created from using a very limited palette of 14 colors.

Process 2

Sketches are created from real life as well as pure imagination.

Process 3

The confetti is sorted to assist the selection.

Process 4

Application of the confetti must be done with tweezers since the glass is so fragile
